Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God;
this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1

PACS Families,

I hope you’ve had a restful weekend! It’s crazy that Spring Break is almost upon us!!!

As we look back at this past week, we’ve clearly seen God’s faithfulness which launches us into this coming week with great excitement!

After celebrating all that God did over the course of the Missions Week, we settled back into the Book of Mark…specifically, March 14:3-9 where a woman named Mary anoints Jesus with her most valued possession: an expensive container of perfume (estimated modern-day worth anywhere from $32,000 to $40,000!)

As you are in your homes, eating around the table, or in the car together, consider discussing the following questions with your students to help open up the opportunity to have spiritual-minded conversations with your middle/high school student(s)…

  • What is the difference between giving something to Jesus in an attempt to earn His love and giving something to Jesus as a response to His love? Why is that difference so important to know?

  • When Paul writes in Romans 12:1 “…to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual act of worship” what does that mean?

  • How does what we give to Jesus reveal our understanding of what He gave for us?

  • How does the truth “Everything not given back to Jesus is ultimately wasted, but nothing you give to Jesus is ever wasted” specifically apply to you?
