Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit,
who leads you in the way you should go."

Isaiah 48:17

Chaplain's Corner
We hope you’ve had a great weekend! Here’s a glimpse back at what took place in Chapel this past Wednesday…

LOWER SCHOOL CHAPEL
With this week being the final week for Lower School Chapel, Pastor David Joiner recapped the major Chapel topics/series of the past year. Pastor David also zeroed in on Isaiah 48:17 (“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”) as a way to finish out the school-year as well as springboard into the Summer Break. Also in Chapel, students Maggie Ross and Bennett Bahnsen powerfully shared with all of our Lower School students and teachers how they came to ask Jesus into their hearts.

Consider the following questions to help open up spiritual conversations with your lower school student(s):

  • “What are some of the major lessons that you learned this year in Chapel?”

  • “Can you tell me about a time when you asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and to take control of your life?” [as parents, it would be great to share your story with them as well!]

A HUGE “Thank You” goes out to all of our lower school students and parents who generously gave over $800 to the Village of Hope Orphanage in Tanzania! Your giving will provide mattresses and mosquito nets to children who are in desperate need…again, thank you all so much!!!

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL CHAPEL
Wednesday was our final Middle/High School Chapel of the year. During this time, we dove into II Timothy 3:14-17. With the Summer Break just around the corner (and no longer having Bible class nearly every day or chapels nearly every week), we talked about how we do not have to experience a drop-off in our closeness to God.

Consider the following questions to help open up spiritual conversations with your middle/high school student(s):

  • “Why is it important to know that your relationship with God does not go on Summer Break?”

  • “Knowing that you will not know the will of God apart from the Word of God, what are some specific steps that you can take to spend more time in prayer and reading the Bible throughout the Summer?”
