Chaplain's Corner

Homecoming at PACS is right around the corner! Homecoming is not a rare event in schools…in fact, most schools have Homecoming events. What makes the Homecoming at Prince so different is the core mission of Prince. There is no better example of how our core mission establishes our school culture than the way in which we select our Homecoming representatives.

The Homecoming representatives are selected by our student body, not on the basis of popularity or talent (not that there is anything wrong with either), but rather on the basis of the Fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. In Chapel on Wednesday, I walked through the Fruits of the Spirit and we then asked our student body to identify from among their peers who they feel best exemplifies love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Even though there are only a set number of representatives on the PACS Homecoming Court, the Fruits of the Spirit apply to all of us…they are, in fact, our greatest guide and gauge to spiritual maturity!
