Shabbat Service Honoring Women of B'nai Israel
Friday, February 23 at 7:30 PM
Rabbi Alfi will be honoring the Women of B'nai Israel as we participate in Shabbat Services. The Rabbi will offer a special blessing for our members.
We will be welcoming a special guest to the service-- Julia Weinstein, Vice-President of Advocacy, Marketing & Communications for Women of Reform Judaism. The service will be followed by an Oneg Shabbat sponsored by the Brotherhood. Please join us for this wonderful occasion.
Deni Marshall will be leading a meditation in the chapel at 7:00 pm prior to the Shabbat service. All are invited to attend for some silent reflective time before we all rejoice together on Shabbat.
Shabbaton with Julia
Saturday, February 24
Don't miss the chance to meet and interact with Julia Weinstein, who will host a Shabbaton from 9:30AM- 2:00PM in the Multi-Purpose Room!!
Julia Weinstein currently serves as Pacific District VP of Marketing & Communications. As an attorney and a member of the bars of California and New York, Julia is experienced at conflict management and resolution. She has conducted conflict management and resolution workshops and programs for WRJ, for the Pacific District and for individual sisterhoods.
Julia also has experience in marketing and communication. In addition to her duties as her sisterhood's Marketing & Communications Chair, she currently oversees all WRJ Pacific District marketing and communications, including the district email newsletter, website and Facebook page. She has served on the WRJ Marketing and Communications Committee and collaborated on the WRJ Marketing Toolkit. She has conducted marketing and communications workshops for the Pacific District and for individual sisterhoods.

9:30-10am Light Breakfast - bagels & schmears, fruit, tea, coffee, juice
10:00am-11:30amJulia Weinstein will lead an interactive session on how to encourage leadership and involvement by using marketing and communication tools effectively
11:30am-12:15pm Lunch provided by Women of B'nai Israel
12:15-2:00pm WRJ now and moving forward Julia Weinstein will discuss advocacy, resolutions and statements, both current and pending approval, that can provide opportunities for engagement, learning, and connecting.
We will need assistance setting up for breakfast and lunch and cleaning up and would welcome baked goods and snack items (pretzels, popcorn, candy etc.) and beverage donations. Please let Lindie Henderson know at firstname.lastname@example.org

Help the Homeless
Sunday, February 11th
Help us make 400 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless in the Social Hall starting at 1:30 PM. The more hands, the faster we will get done!

Rosh Chodesh Adar
Tuesday, February 13
Join Women of B'nai Israel and Rabbi Alfi for Rosh Chodesh Adar on Tuesday February 13th at 6:00 pm in the Social Hall. We begin with a dairy potluck and then will watch Arnon Goldfinger's "The Flat," a documentary about his shocking discovery when his grandmother died at the age of 98 he was charged with cleaning out her Tel Aviv apartment. The film had its world premiere at the Jerusalem International Film Festival, where it was named best documentary in 2011, and was picked up by Sundance Film Festival in 2012. Join us for this amazing film! All women age 13 and over welcome. No RSVP necessary.
Starting Off the New Year with Social Action!
Over 30 women participated in our Mitzvah Day activity of making no-sew fleece blankets for Wellspring Women's Center, which provides respite and services to women and children each weekday. Thanks to Peggy Goldstein, Elaine Berghausen and Helen Nusbaum for making this event possible!
The Women of B'nai Israel had an awesome turnout at the Sacramento Women's March, with amazing support from our congregation and friends!

We have many fun, interesting, and enjoyable events and activities planned for next year. From social action projects, such as Family Promise, programs that enrich your spiritual life, such as Rosh Chodesh, and just plain fun events, such as the annual Fall Fashion Show, your membership is a gift to yourself and to your community. The Women of B'nai Israel is an integral part of our congregation, and through our participation in the national organization Women of Reform Judaism.

Community Passover Seder Saturday March 31
The Women of B'nai Israel will be hosting the very popular annual Second Night Seder on Saturday March 31 at 5:00 pm in the Social Hall at CBI with Rabbi Alfi and Cantor Steinberg conducting the Seder.
Adults: $40, Children ages 6-12: $20, Children Under 6: Free. Prices will increase on March 19. Adults: $50, Children 6-12 $25 (Children under 6 free)

Reservations and payments must be received by Saturday March 24. Second night Seder is always a sellout! Please contact CBI office at (916) 446-4861 after March 24 regarding late reservations.
