Girls' Grantmaking Project

The Women's Fund welcomed fourteen girls from Freedom, Little Chute, Kaukauna and Kimberly high schools for the sixth annual Girls' Grantmaking Project on March 14. The girls discussed topics important to them and their peers through facilitated conversation. They talked about the issues and problems they are facing, and what we can do together to help.  It was a powerful day with thoughtful discussions, debate and cooperation.

The group will come together again on April 25 to learn about and evaluate resources in our community and ultimately recommend $10,000 in grant funding to the nonprofit program(s) they feel will best meet the needs of girls in the Fox Valley.  Thank you to all the girls who participated with such enthusiasm and to the Ethel Keller Fund for Women for supporting this program.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Women's Philanthropy Forum, or joined us for networking at Butte des Morts Country Club on March 9.

Marybeth Cottrill, CFP, AEP, presented information about what it takes to "Lead Your Own Movement," and stressed the growing financial power of women. Women control $14 trillion in assets which they increasingly use to positively impact their communities. Trends include expanded collaboration and mission focused giving.
