Women's Health Specialists is very busy this Spring!
Check out our recent and upcoming events this Spring!
As usual, folks came out in fabulous costumes for our Redding Bowl-a-thon!

Women's Health Specialists is once again participating in the National Network of Abortion Funds Bowl-a-thon! This fundraiser will benefit our very own Women in Need program, which provides pregnant people in need of an abortion with financial assistance for a procedure, bus ticket, childcare, or anything else a person may need in order to access reproductive health services.  Our Chico clinic is raising money with a "Virtual" Bowl-a-thon, and Redding's Bowl-a-thon this weekend was a huge success! Sacramento's Bowl-a-thon is THIS Saturday from 2 - 4pm! National Activist and Writer Katie Klabusich , Sacramento Take Back the Night  and members of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California will be joining us to bowl for this wonderful cause!

Reproductive Freedom Week

On April 18th, we join reproductive justice organizations all over the state in celebrating Reproductive Freedom Week! During this week, we will raise funds for the Women in Need fund in our clinics and distribute information about our reproductive justice advocacy priorities for this legislative session, which include:
SB 23 - Repeal the Maximum Family Grant rule! The MFG Rule is California's policy of denying financial support to babies born while their families are receiving CalWORKs basic needs grants. The MFG Rule endangers the health and wellbeing of infants born into poverty and intentionally limits the reproductive decisions of poor women.
SB 999 - This bill makes dispensing a 12-month supply of birth control a best practice in the commercial and Medi-Cal managed care settings and for these reasons, WHS supports SB 999

WHS is thrilled to be participating in the Big Day of Giving for the first time! May 3rd, 2016, from midnight to midnight, WHS will be raising funds through bigdayofgiving.org ! Mark your calendars to donate on May 3rd, and spread the word on social media!
