BubbleFest Returns to WonderLab
Get ready for sensational soapy science during the return of WonderLab’s ICONIC: BubbleFest at the WonderLab.
Labor Day Weekend 1-4 p.m. daily: Saturday, Sept. 1, Sunday, Sept. 2, and Monday, Sept. 3.

Re-live this popular event and celebrate what has been awesome about WonderLab from the beginning - hands-on science learning that is engaging and enchanting for people of all ages. Immerse yourself in the world of hands-on bubble science. Experience the Giant Body Bubble, work as a Bubble Engineer, create Billowing Bubble Sculptures and more. See suds from another angle as you become a part of a bubble. Assemble original bubble wands. Engineer original bubbles or all sizes. Learn how bubbles change in size and shape as they react to different air pressures.

Free with museum admission.
Science Night Out: Tickets on Sale Now!
Get your tickets now for WonderLab's annual gala fundraiser Science Night Out: Magnified on Saturday, September 15 from 6-9 p.m. This elegant and eye-opening evening affair featuring hands-on science fun, cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and more at the Monroe Convention Center in Bloomington, Indiana. 

Evening includes plated dinner, hands-on science activities, libations wall, silent and live auctions, featured speakers, raffle, and more. Tickets $100 per person or $740 per table of eight.

Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Proceeds benefit WonderLab’s educational programs, science exhibits, and accessibility initiatives.

Early Childhood Education at WonderLab
WonderLab's programs for young scientists are designed and facilitated by early childhood specialists and involve hands-on exploration, live music, body movement, and a commitment to accurate science! September Topic: Weather

Science Sprouts: Wednesdays at 4:15 p.m. and Thursdays at 9:15 and 10 a.m . - Age 3 and under - Ticketed but free with admission.

Discovery Time: Wednesdays at 10 a.m. - Ages 3-6 - Ticketed but free with
admission.
Dive Deeper - Sundays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
Join a marine biologist to dive deeper into the science of WonderLab’s coral reef. These 30 minute talks feature hands-on exploration, tours of our coral reef aquarium, insight from an expert, and time for questions. Each month explores a different topic in depth. All Dive Deeper sessions include a live feeding.

STEM Sundays - Sundays from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Free, drop-in, challenge-based experiences for the entire family. Projects are “easy entry” for all ages, meaning that specialized skills are not needed. Children as young as kindergarten can participate. STEM Sundays   are sponsored by Cook Medical and CFC Properties.

Coder Dojo: Thursday, September 20 from 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.
from 1-4 p.m. Learn to code from coding experts! At CoderDojo children ages 7 to 17 learn skills such as building a website, creating an app or a game, and exploring technology in an informal, creative, and social environment. The program is free, laptops are provided, and it is co-taught by local computer programmers/engineers and WonderLab educators. Free.

Board of Directors Update
Fond farewell to Board Member Mark Franklin and a joyous welcome to Steve Bishop. Mark Franklin, stepped down from the board in August 2018. Steve Bishop, Commercial Banking Officer, German American Bank, joined as the newest member.
Mr. Bishop is a WonderParent and frequent museum visitor.

Thank you to both Mark and Steve for their service and commitment to hands-on science.
WonderLab Membership Moment
WonderLab Memberships Are Flexible By Design
WonderLab recognizes that families may live in more than one household. Therefore, we give you the flexibility to choose a certain number of individuals in your family to name on the member card regardless of where they live. If you have a Basic or Premier Family membership, you may name more than five family members (or “caregiver”) on the card. The cost for each added person is $20.
