Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week our students and staff participated in the state required Lock Down Drill. This drill was held under the guidance and support of the District's Head of Security, Vic Ferrell, and a representative from the Shaker Heights Police Department. We will continue to guide the students on the procedures and importance of the Lock Down Drill. The Administrative team will be reviewing Lock Down Drill procedures in addition to other building expectations during our 5th and 6th grade team meetings. This will provide support to both students and staff for the remaining drills to be held during this school year. So you are aware, we will be conducting another Lock Down Drill during the month of February.
I would like to thank all of the 6th grade families who have called Mr. Lenczewski, Woodbury's Guidance Counselor, to receive log on information for the Naviance Family Connection. We are up to 100 families in the 6th grade who have their login information!! Our goal is to have all 370 families registered with Naviance before May 2018. If you have not contacted Mr. Lenczewski, please reach out to him through email at lenczewski_
[email protected]
or contact him at his office number,
Thank you for another great week at Woodbury Elementary School!
Always believe!

Drama Club News
We are working hard on painting the sets, acting and creating costumes and props. Our students' attendance at rehearsals, meetings and paint days are very crucial. We can't complete scenes, songs, props or sets if everyone involved isn't there. Please check the calendar or our website to be sure you know when you are needed. The February calendar was passed out at rehearsal this week. It is also hanging in a folder outside of the auditorium.

Woodbury Creating Change
You and your family are invited to be a part of a collaborative process and help make a difference! Make or glaze a clay planter for our "Woodbury Creating Change" Event. This collaborative process begins with your creative input in molding a clay planter which then, is glazed by another person. On the evening of Monday, April 23rd, 2018 over 1,000 unique handmade planters and over succulents will be available for purchase where our evening will be filled with art, beautiful baby succulents and uniting together. Help Needed
Please send any
sturdy
cardboard tubes you are ready to recycle to the Product Design Lab ℅ Ms. Scanlon. The inner roll of cardboard from aluminum foil or gift-wrap paper and old poster tubes would be helpful to the sixth graders as they use the Design Cycle to make adaptive equipment in Product Design. Thank you!
