Woodridge Public Library
Library Announcements

The Library will be closed on Friday, July 4, for Independence Day. The outside book drops are always available so you can return items any time you want. All materials except e-readers can be returned in the drops.

Woodridge Jubilee will be taking place from June 11 through June 15. The Library will be open during these dates, but parking gets a little tricky.

From the Library Administrator

May is always such a busy month! Jefferson Junior High students had a lovely spring concert on May 12, in conjunction with their art exhibit. It was delightful to have the students, families, and teachers here.  We also had our annual luncheon to acknowledge our volunteers, another delightful event!

Several of our employees were recognized for their long-term employment at our last in-service meeting, and they were invited to the Board meeting on May 21 for acknowledgement: Denise Murray and Kay Kohut-10 years; Jo Bulin and Linda Montalvo-15 years; Julie Lombardo-20 years; and Brenda O'Brien-25 years! Does this indicate that the Woodridge Public Library is a great place to work? You bet it does.

Our Summer Reading programs begin Monday, June 2, and will run through Saturday, July 26. There are three levels of programs: children, young adults, and adults. Young adults and adults can register online or in person; children can register in person beginning June 2. As always, there are prizes offered during the programs and final prizes at the end. There will be a lot going on, especially in the Children's Department, so be sure to pick up a brochure that outlines all the details about ages and dates. Teens, there is a lot going on for you in June also, so check our website or Library Leaves for more information!

The Library is partnering again with Westwood College. The College is offering free classes to Woodridge Public Library cardholders. The classes are held at the College, but registration is through the Library. Digital Photography is being offered on Mondays, June 9, June 16, June 23, and June 30, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Introduction to the Mac OS will be on Mondays, August 18 and 25, also from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
