Show Your Love for Bright
If you have not given or made a pledge to the Bright Fund yet, now is the time!
No matter the size of your gift, we want 100% parent participation. Thanks to you, students will enjoy a splash-filled time on August 31 with waterslides, icy treats and a beach party.
Be Kind! Car Line Reminders
Thank you for your patience during the morning and afternoon car line. Here are some reminders to make arrival and dismissal smoother:
  • Give your full attention to the car line; put down the phone.
  • Wait for the vehicle in front of you to move ahead after dropping off or loading children; don't pull around other vehicles in the line.
  • Do not block our neighbors' driveway on McDade Lane (the first house on the right entering the school).
  • Avoid the rush! Come earlier in the mornings and arrive later in the afternoons. Usually, there is little congestion before 7:45 a.m. and after 3:15 p.m.
See You Thursday at Parents' Night
Parents' Night is Thursday, August 30. This is an event for parents only. Children may stay late in Bright Afternoons, you may drop them off in Bright Afternoons when you arrive or arrange other childcare at home.

The schedule is:
Grades JPK-1: 5:30-6:15 p.m.
Grades 2-5: 6:30-7:15 p.m.

(Kindergarten meets in the library. Fourth grade meets in the dining hall, and fifth grade meets in the library. Other grades meet in your child's classroom.)

Shuttles will run from Stuart Heights Baptist Church from 5-8 p.m. Please do not park along Minnekahda Road near the school entrance. When this narrow road is blocked, residents will call police to have vehicles towed.

If your child is staying in Bright Afternoons from dismissal through the end of your Parents' Night time with no break, please fill out this form and turn it into the office by Tuesday, August 28, to reserve your child's spot. You do not have to turn in a form if you drop off your child when you arrive. Drop off and check out is at the Early Childhood Center main desk.

During Parents' Night, you will receive information about field trips, help class for grades 2-5, Morning Math for grades 1-5 and Sunshine Math for grades K-5.
Splash Day is Friday!
Thanks to parents' participation in the Bright Fund, students will enjoy Splash Day on Friday.

Students should wear their swimsuits under their clothing when they come to school. Parents may want to apply sunscreen to their students before arriving and send sunscreen to school with them.

Friday is a free dress day for all students. This means students may wear clothing of their choice with tennis shoes. Please no Baylor, GPS or McCallie shirts. It is a Bonanza shirt day, so we encourage students to wear those instead!

Students will enjoy Splash Day by grade during their regular P.E. times. There will be inflatable water slides, sprinklers, bubbles and more!

Please also send your child with a towel, undergarments and a plastic bag for his or her wet swimsuit -- all clearly labeled with your child's name.

Parents are welcome to attend Splash Day with their children and help with monitoring during the event and dressing afterward. Please contact your grade reps if you plan to attend.

Here is the schedule:

Kindergarten -- 9:40-10:20 a.m.

All Visitors Report to the Office
As part of our new security measures this year, we ask that all visitors, including parents, please sign in and wear a sticker name tag while in the school. You will see our faculty and staff also wearing official school name tags or ID cards.

If you are at school for an extended period of time volunteering, attending a meeting or eating lunch, etc., please check in at the office. Wearing a name tag will identify you as an authorized visitor in the case of an emergency, and signing in helps us keep track of who is in the building.
