Worcester Township's Administration Building is now home to a "Little Free Library". The library is filled with children's book and is open 24/7 for children to stop by and pick out a new book and/or leave a book behind for another child to enjoy.
The library was designed and built by Troop 7257 for their Girl Scout Bronze Award project.
Troop 7257 has been together since Kindergarten at Visitation BVM School.
The Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can receive. Although these girls are now in sixth grade, they had to complete the project by September 30, 2015. The Little Free Library was the project that the girls selected. The girls each spent over 20 hours designing, planning, building, painting and decorating the library as well as collecting the books to stock the shelves. The girls learned new skills and had fun doing it.
A prerequisites to earn this award is to complete a Journey. The girls implemented a recycling program at their school to complete the Journey. They have had a productive year.
Worcester Township thanks and congratulates the troop for their fantastic work!
