National Workforce Development week is August 31st - September 4th, 2015.  During this week, the McHenry County Workforce Network will be holding some special events to bring attention to showcase our center and strengthen awareness in the community.  Below is a list of events that are being held!
Monday, August 31st

Strategies to Take Your Job Search to the Next Level
Job search strategies have changed in recent years and even the latest strategies like social media have evolved in just the last 12 months!  Discover the method employers and recruiters say they rely on the most to find the best quality of candidate.  Find out why your application is getting lost in the "black hole" of applicant tracking systems and what you can do about it today.  Learn about a resource that can make the most of the time you invest in 5 key areas of an effective job search.  Explore how employers and applicants are finding each other and connecting.   Click here  to register for this workshop!

Manufacturers Skills Assessment
Hands on demonstration of certain skills required to work in the manufacturing industry.  Participants will be videoed while performing tasks and can use that with potential employers.  Participant space is limited.   Click here  to register or call

Dress for Success
First impressions are key. You have a matter of seconds to create yours. MCWN will help by offering tips on how to best present yourself to an employer, including non verbal communication, body posture and appropriate interview attire.  Come to our seminar and you will also have a chance to take home a voucher for clothing or a haircut to impress your next interviewer!

Visit Your Local Workforce Center Day
Come tour the Workforce Center and learn about all of the different resources that we have available to you.  We have also invited State and Federal Legislators along with local businesses.  McHenry County Workforce Network Staff will be here to introduce to our different programs and answer any questions you may have.
Thursday, September 4th
9:00am - 12:00pm
JOB FAIR
Come to our Employer Job Fair hosted by Illinois Department of Employment Security and McHenry County Workforce Network.  There will be four Employers here recruiting for various positions.  Employers include: Gault Staffing, Inc., Andrews Staffing, Peapod, and Manpower / Elgin Office.  Bring your resumes and come dressed to impress!
