Paying less business rates
We understand the importance that support to local businesses and organisations plays in achieving against the council's key priorities for the district, including 'a strong local economy'.

Our new non-domestic discretionary rate relief policy, introduced earlier this month, identifies a number of different areas of support available to businesses to ensure that our communities and businesses are able to develop and thrive. It includes rates relief to encourage business investment in targeted growth sectors, increase the supply of high quality office space, and improve the town centres of Boroughbridge, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Masham, Pateley Bridge and Ripon.

Harrogate BID - find out more
Harrogate BID are inviting businesses to join them at a series of business workshops at Harrogate Convention Centre on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 May.

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined area where businesses pay a levy in order to fund projects and activity - they are a way to help businesses take control of and improve their trading environment.

The workshop sessions will each last about 90 minutes and are your chance to find out more about the Harrogate BID and ask any questions you may have. Whilst the workshops have been tailored to sectors, you are welcome to attend any session.

Cyber Project heading to Harrogate
The Yorkshire Cyber Project are hosting a cyber learning experience for local businesses at St Roberts Centre in Harrogate on Wednesday 30 May.

The free interactive workshop is aimed at SME's across our district.

The event will provide you with information on cyber-security, with topics including prevention of cyber-attacks, loss of data and misuse of network as well as awareness-raising of indirect impacts such as data protection liability. Using a scenario simulation platform, participants will experience and learn about attacks and consequences, helping you and your business to build effective cyber resilience.
