Special Edition: Show your support for the Local Plan
Support the Harrogate District Local Plan and support lower cost homes for local people, and more space for businesses to grow and stay local.
The council has prepared the publication version of the of the Harrogate District Local Plan and is now seeking views and support before submitting it to the government.
Feedback taken from local businesses highlighted two themes the Local Plan could be used to address:
housing is expensive locally and this is a barrier to recruiting staff and,
the availability of land for business expansion has been low and this means local businesses have to look outside the district if they want to grow.
The Local Plan, which meets local needs up to 2035, addresses both these issues by allocating a minimum of 38ha of new land for employment purposes and providing for 14,049 new homes in the district with a focus on affordable and smaller market housing for first time buyers and families.
Show your support by responding to the consultation at GS1 - providing new homes and jobs - adding your comments and support for the plan.
Comment forms can be completed online using the
consultation portal, or are available to download as both
PDF and
Word versions. Printed copies are also available at the locations listed above.
Representations can be made any time until 4.30pm on Friday 9 March 2018.
