Spring Series 2016

Giordano Dance Chicago presents the world premiere of Sneaky Pete, a new full-company work by award-winning Chicago-based choreographer Brock Clawson, whose previous work was called "impressive polished complexity and emotional sophistication" by the Chicago Sun-Times.
With a theater director's sensibilities and a unique skill in creating fascinating movement narratives, Clawson has created a deliciously intriguing new work with a nod to film noir.
During the rehearsal process, GDC had the honor of welcoming photographer Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth of Chicago Dance Supply in studio to capture these stunning, sneaky and surreal moments.
Leni also had the chance to chat with GDC Artistic Director Nan Giordano on why this is a must-see performance.
In addition to the world premiere of
Sneaky Pete, the program will feature these popular works from the company's repertoire:
EXit4 -
Israeli born Roni Koresh's critically acclaimed, edgy, intense and dramatic full company work
commonthread - choreographed by Autumn Eckman and performed by the five women of GDC to an eclectic original music composition and live accompaniment by musician Dan Myers
Alegria - Kiesha Lalama's full-company work using various movement styles to examine the universal human experience of searching, finding and ultimately accepting joy
Like 100 Men
- choreographed by Jon Lehrer and performed by the six men of GDC, which hints at the 1960's era competitive male swagger and mod aesthetic
Sing, Sing, Sing
-
a classic work choreographed by founder Gus Giordano in the Giordano Technique style and re-staged for the entire company of 10 dancers
