"In selecting the work for this exhibition I wanted to find a unique voice or vision of each photographer while also creating a show that is cohesive and works as a whole. Although the theme of the exhibition could have led to distinctive landscapes, cityscapes or other iconography as the focal points of images, I felt strongly that, with our current world events, it was the people I wanted to emphasize. These artists have succeeded in taking us on a visual journey where they are exploring their own cultural curiosity, finding wonder and amazement in the scenes they witness, and mapping a path through an artistic documentation of what they have found." - Curator, Jeff Stevenson, Gallery Director, Governors State University
We will also delight in a special slideshow presentation by WorldChicago volunteers traveling through Japan, Taiwan and Vladivostok, Russia, this fall.
