WorldChicago will host a public forum for three government officials from Brazil who will address current events, government structure and politics in Brazil. Come hear from the Mayor of a town in Santa Catarina, a Legal Advisor in the Federal Senate and a government official for international relations from Rio de Janeiro. These delegates will be participating in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program. Q & A to follow. Continental breakfast will be provided. Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program: Russia
Description: The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program has been a program of the U.S. Department of State for nearly 20 years. The program seeks to promote mutual understanding between the United States and the countries of Eurasia by providing secondary school students (ages 15-17) the opportunity to live in the U.S. for an academic year. Students are fluent in English.
WorldChicago needs your help! We are seeking a temporary or permanent host family placement for a female student from Russia. Olga will arrive this month to begin school at South Shore International College Preparatory High School. Ideally, the host family will live in or near to Hyde Park. In Russia, Olga attends an art school, where she plays the accordion and electronic piano. Invite her into your home!

Description: 8 Emerging Public Policy Leaders from Russia and Turkey will be completing fellowships at State and Local Government Offices and NGO's in Chicago.
All participants are fluent in English. Individual profiles are available for these fellows.

South & Central Asian Legislative Fellows Program
Chicago Dates: October 21 - November 7, 2012
Description: 4 Emerging Public Policy Professionals from 4 South & Central Asian Countries will be completing fellowships at State and Local Government Offices and NGO's in Chicago. All participants are fluent in English.
Home stays are needed for all of these delegates. A small stipend is available for homestay hosts.
What do we need? Each guest with his or her own bed and access to a private or shared bathroom;
Quality time spent with guests to share experiences and insights about daily life and culture in Chicago

Description: This U.S. Department of State program identifies foreign leaders in a variety of fields to visit the U.S. for 3 weeks (visiting 3-5 cities) to meet their professional counterparts, explore their thematic interest area(s), and experience America firsthand. These visitors stay in hotels.
If you are interested in meeting with these visitors professionally and/or socially for meals in your home, please contact John Baum at (312) 254-1800 x100 or jbaum@worldchicago.org to request these opportunities (please note that not all requests may be met due to scheduling conflicts and programming goals). Meal hospitality has specifically been requested for the visitor programs highlighted below in red. Priority for meal hosting is given to current WorldChicago members.
