Seeking Homestay Hosts for Public Policy Professionals from Russia and Turkey participating in the U.S. Department of State's Legislative Fellowship Program.

Would you be interested in hosting Sultan from Turkey who works in a Gender Studies Department in Istanbul?  Or Zoya from Russia who heads a civic engagement NGO in Russia?

WorldChicago is hosting 8 public policy officials from Russia and Turkey participating in the US Department of State's Legislative Fellowship Program.  During their time in Chicago, the fellows will complete fellowships with government agencies and non-governmental organizations in Chicago. 

We are currently seeking homestay hosts for 2 female fellows from Russia and 1 female fellow from Turkey. 

Stipend is available for homestay hosts.

South & Central Asian Legislative Fellows Program  

Chicago Dates: October 21 - November 7, 2012      


Description: 4 Emerging Public Policy Professionals from Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan will be completing fellowships at State and Local Government Offices and NGO's in Chicago.  All participants are fluent in English.     

 

Home stays are needed for all of these delegates.  A small stipend is available for homestay hosts. 

 

What do we need?
Each guest with his or her own bed and access to a private or shared bathroom;

Quality time spent with guests to share experiences and insights about daily life and culture in Chicago

IVLPINTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM & MEAL HOSPITALITY REQUESTS

International Visitor Leadership Program:

Description: This U.S. Department of State program identifies foreign leaders in a variety of fields to visit the U.S. for 3 weeks (visiting 3-5 cities) to meet their professional counterparts, explore their thematic interest area(s), and experience America firsthand. These visitors stay in hotels.    

 

If you are interested in meeting with these visitors professionally and/or socially for meals in your home, please contact John Baum at (312) 254-1800 x100 or jbaum@worldchicago.org to request these opportunities (please note that not all requests may be met due to scheduling conflicts and programming goals). Meal hospitality has specifically been requested for the visitor programs highlighted below in red. Priority for meal hosting is given to current WorldChicago members.
