Nic Valdez

 

Nicolas Valdez is a mutli-disciplinary artist: a teatrista, musician, filmmaker and spoken word artist.

 

He has toured nationally with Teatro Campesino and worked with artists like Guillermo Gomez-Pe�a and Maya Angelou.

 

 Valdez has been described as "the most poetic, subtle accordion player in San Antonio" by the San Antonio Current - high praise in a town that takes the accordion seriously.

Enrique Castillo
Enrique Castillo is a SAG award nominated actor best known for his role as Montana in Bound by Honor. 
  
Castillo played Jorge in El Norte and has had many varied roles in an enduring career. 
  
He was a member of El Teatro Campesino and played the Mexican American in the 1972 production of Los Vendidos.  
  

Castillo was a founding member of The Latino Theater Company.

 

He co-wrote the company's plays Stone Wedding and August 29.

 

In 1997, Castillo created Four Brown Hats Entertainment (FBHE), a film and theater production company.

 

With FBHE, he adapted and directed The Last Angry Brown Hat. Following this, he wrote and directed Veteranos: A Legacy of Valor, a theater piece honoring the military contributions by Latinos in America's defense.

Joseph Julian SoriaWith distinguished roles in a variety of projects, Joseph Julian (J.J.) Soria is proving that he possesses the talent, energy and experience to bring memorable characters to life on the small and silver screen.
  
Most recently, Soria was bumped up as a series regular on Lifetime's top rated series, "Army Wives," so this year, he continues his role as Private First Class "Hector Cruz."
  
Although often cast as the bad boy, Soria has proven to have the chops to conquer many other roles, including comedic characters. His latest film Filly Brown (Olmos Productions), premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival as part of the U.S. Dramatic Competition to rave reviews.

She writes, directs and produces short and feature-length films that herald the triumph and challenges of the American Latino community in the United States.
  
Her passion is to transform how Latinos are portrayed in the media.
  
She is a graduate of CU-Denver and a former member of the Su Teatro theatrical company.

Douglas Spain captured critical praise and a 1998 Independent Spirit Award nomination for his feature film debut in Fox Searchlight's "Star Maps." Douglas Spain 

 

Spain appeared in HBO's "Walkout" directed by Edward James Olmos as well as "The Reading Room" opposite James Earl Jones for the Hallmark Channel.

 

He has been seen in HBO's "Band Of Brothers" produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and has many other film and tv credits.

  

Ric Salinas - Actor

  

Ric Salinas is an original member of the performance trio, Culture Clash, now in it's 26th year.

 

Together, the members of Culture Clash have written over a dozen plays and performed over 5,000 shows on stages across the United States.Ric Salinas

 

As a theater artist, writer, social commentator and activist, Ric along with his compadres have created searing satire and biting drama for the national stage. 

  

Expanding the boundaries of Chicano theater and their comedy troupe status, Culture Clash continues to raise the bar of American theater by bringing new and untraditional audiences to where ever they perform.

  

 

 

Nicolas Valdez - Filmmaker

  

Nicolas Valdez is a multidisciplinary artist that has made a significant impact in San Antonio and the Bay Area and who is emerging on the national scene. Nic Valdez

 

Nick is a product of the SURDNA-funded, nationally recognized Grupo Animo youth theater program at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio -- a program that became a model for the field in the 1990s under the tutelage of then theater director Jorge Pi�a. 
 
 

Nicolas is a creator of MadMedia, a video arts project and RESET collective, an online resource that provides these individual artists with a virtual meeting place to develop new work.
