June 9th  2015                                                                                       Summer Campfire Campaign

Exciting news! YES was spotlighted with summer camper, Louissa, this past weekend on KTVU Channel 2's Bay Area People program.  Louissa shared her enthusiasm about her upcoming journey to summer camp and how YES's year-round camp and community experiences are setting her, and other Richmond and West Contra Costa County youth, on their pathways to leadership. If you didn't catch the show when it aired, click here to watch it online.

We would like to thank our many donors who are making the dream of a full week of sleep-away camp possible for our YES youth this summer. If you would like to support our efforts, please spread the word and consider joining our Summer Campfire Campaign going on now through June 30th.

Best wishes,

Eric Aaholm, Executive Director

Summer Campfire Campaign

YES's Summer Campfire Campaign takes center stage as our crucial fundraising effort to send 300 children to camp this summer. Throughout the month of June, our goal is to raise $50,000, and to do this we need you to be the spark! Thanks to the Chamberlin Family and Shoresh Foundations, all donations made by you and other individual donors will be matched one-to-one. We have raised over $38,500 to date, but need your support to reach our goal and make camp possible for our awaiting youth.

Please visit our event page for more campaign information including how your donation automatically registers you for a raffle that includes fine wines, baseball tickets, golf packages, and other fun experiences this summer.

"Camp had a huge impact on me. The first year I went I was shy, and in that one week I had to learn not to be shy. I set a goal for myself to become more social and bring my grades up along with my writing and athletics, and I did it. This year, camp will help me with something new."
