Class instructors are West Chester Police officers
A program offered by the West Chester Police Department expands on the 2 hour SMART Self-Defense class. This class is being offered to women 16 years and older.

SAFE: Self-defense Awareness Fundamental Education, was created as a result of requests by members of the community that had taken the SMART Class and wanted more in depth training. The sessions include guided discussion on topics women could encounter in their everyday lives, with the majority of time spent in rigorous self-defense training. There is a focus on rape prevention, personal protection and self-awareness.

The 10-hour program is free and will be offered for 2-hours a day for 5 days. The program begins September 15 through October 13, 2016 6-8 p.m. Participants must be able to attend all five days for which they register. The class will be offered at Lakota West High School in the wrestling room.

Islamic Center In The News

Every community has a narra tive.  Either that community controls the narrative or the narrative cont rols the community.   Now more than ever the American Muslim community has to take control of the narrative. This can only be achieved if as a community we are building bridges and inroads with media.  Media outlets want to cover stories and do pieces that people are interested in. They want viewers, readers, comments, and discussions.  It is critical that as a community we are more visible and more vocal in the media.

We have been blessed for wide and positive coverage of the Center.  When there is positive coverage we must all give feedback and acknowledge and appreciate the work of the media. Please take a few minutes to review the media links and give positive feedback where you feel comfortable.
