PARCC testing begins for our 3rd grade students this week. Our 3rd graders will take 4 mathematics assessments and 3 English language arts assessments over the course of the next month. I know our 3rd grade teachers and students have worked hard preparing for this state testing. I have confidence our students will do their best each day! If you have a 3rd grader, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher for the specific testing schedule to ensure your child has a healthy breakfast each day of testing.

3rd quarter ends tomorrow! Report cards will go live on Home Access on Friday, March 16th at 5pm. If you need help accessing Home Access, please contact the main office and Mrs. Wangler will be happy to assist you. If you need a paper copy of your child's report card, please email me at mlewis@y115.org and I will be sure you receive a paper copy.

Tuesday evening is the YGS PTO monthly meeting. Please join us on Tuesday at 6:30pm in the YGS Library. We look forward to seeing you there!

Be sure to stop by Wings Etc. in Yorkville for Restaurant Night on Wednesday. A portion of the proceeds is donated back to the YGS PTO. Give yourself a break from cooking and help raise money for our school! Don't forget the flyer when you go. If you need an additional flyer, please contact the main office.

Have a great week!

If you haven't already, please spend a few minutes getting to know more about our event by watching this video with your student at home:

This email is to let you know there is still plenty of time to participate and raise money.  ANY student that registers online free http://www2.heart.org/goto/YGS or by using our mobile app (jump/hoops) will receive a glow in the dark wristband. Once you start collecting donations you will receive monsters from the Scare Squad and a backpack clip for them to hang on.

Did you know the wristband and all the monsters COME TO LIFE! Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk9eqMvGCx0 )

Thank you for staying active and eating healthy! Every single dollar you raise will help kids and families build healthier lives. No problem! If your child needs to leave early from school, please inform the office by sending a note or calling prior to 3pm.  The office will be sure to inform your child's teacher and the teacher will ensure your child is packed and ready to be dismissed when requested. However, the office will not call your child down, nor will the teacher send your child down to the office, until you have arrived to pick them up. There could be a change in your plans, such as traffic, which may impact your arrival time. We want to make sure we maximize the amount of instruction time your child has. As soon as you arrive for pick up, we will call your child down to be dismissed. Thank you for understanding and please let the office know if you have questions.
