Supporters on hard hat tour of One Chinatown.
Arts Center is Coming to Chinatown!

Thanks to YOU, we are bringing the "One Chinatown" Arts Center to Boston! "One Chinatown" will be a space for artists and community members to celebrate the cultural and creative assets of our community. Because we successfully met the 60-day challenge to raise $50,000, MassDevelopment will give us a $50,000 match!

We are also a recipient of the  2016 National Creative Placemaking Fund from ArtPlace America! Over 1,400 applications were submitted nationwide, and only 2% of projects were funded! This $450,000 grant will enable us to use arts and culture strategies to strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of our community.

Special thanks to our partners: Bunker Hill Community College, Asian Community Development Corporation, Boston Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture, South Cove Community Health Center, and Tufts University Department of Public Health and Community Medicine.  Watch this video to learn more about our project!

Retail Training Graduates Secure Jobs
Congrats to the graduates of  BCNC and  Chinese Progressive Association's Retail Employment Job Training! This 10-week training, supported by the City of Boston  Mayor's Office of Workforce Development through the Neighborhood Jobs Trust, helps low-income immigrants find full-time jobs in the retail industry. Students learn customer service, English  for work, as well as workplace and job search skills.  Our students' success is due in part to our incredible employer partners:  Bon Me Roche Brothers , and  Uniqlo. Over half of our students have already found jobs!

Brian Doo of the Boston Celtics gives a special address to Quincy Youth!
What's New with Quincy Youth?

Celtics Game
Thanks to the Dunkin' Donuts KidZone Program, Quincy youth went to a Boston Celtics game, and were able to sit court-side and attend a pre-game shoot around. Brian Doo, the Strength and Conditioning Coach, also made time to address our youth.

Developing Communication Skills
A group of volunteers from Pershing/BNY Mellon ran activities with Quincy youth to practice their communication and storytelling skills. The youth described this event as being unique because this was the first opportunity they've ever had to just talk with professionals!
