  • Pray for our student athletes and the success of the Mulch Madness fundraiser.
  • Pray for the 8th grade class and all of those involved in coordinating Plimoth Plantation Day.

Each family is asked to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per year or pay a $400 advancement fee.  Forms to record your hours are available in the Upper and Lower School offices and on the website. Please complete forms even if you have already fulfilled your 20 hours as this demonstrates strong family involvement for our ACSI accreditation and for grant opportunities.

Mulch Madness
Mulch deliveries are Nov 12th!  We need donations of sandwiches/snacks and Gatorade to serve our volunteers who will be working hard delivering mulch.  If you are able to make a monetary or food donation, please contact Brandy Gibson.

Lunch Room and Cafeteria Clean-Up Volunteers
If you are available to help in the lunch room, please contact Erica Vendryes

Auction Procurement
The clock is ticking!   We need donations NOW so that we can begin to organize and plan the online and silent auction.  It seems like there is a lot of time, but there really is not.  If every family will solicit at least two businesses for a donation, we will have a spectacular auction!   At a minimum, please provide names of businesses and a procurement committee member will reach out to them. PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE CHRISTMAS BREAK!!  This year, our auction will support facility expansion.  Ask your hair salon, favorite restaurant, car wash/oil change business, nail salon, dog groomer, etc. for gift certificates or items.  Contact Nancy Cook if you have businesses to suggest, if you would like procurement letters/donation forms, or if you can help to procure items/call on businesses.

Christmas Parade
The Vero Beach Christmas Parade is December 3rd.  We will have a very large float this year, thanks to the Salas family.  We need help putting it all together on December 2nd and the morning of December 3rd.  Please email April Butler if you can help with construction and/or decorating.  We also need students (age 12 and up) to ride on the float in costume. Contact Nancy Cook if your student would like to volunteer.

Chair Stacking
It is officially basketball season!  We need volunteers to help stack chairs on Monday mornings and re-set the chairs on Friday afternoons.  Please contact Bob Flaming if you are able to help.

School Wish List
Are you able to help fulfill any of these wish list items?  If yes, please contact Dr. Smith or the school office.
  • Repair grandfather clock in the Upper School office
  • Child's rocking chair for PK3 classroom
  • Clorox wipes
  • 3 shelf white bookcase for 4th grade classroom

Final Word from Dr. Smith
We are all "masters" of our domains to some extent. Teachers are "masters" of their classrooms. Parents are "masters" of their homes. Business owners are "masters" of their enterprises. Supervisors are "masters" of their shifts. Captains are "masters" of their teams.

In all of these areas, we have responsibilities. People look to us for decision making, for setting the pace, and for being an example.

Some of the above positions are sought after, others are appointed, and some are thrust upon us. In all, God looks to us to lead those we have charge over and He holds us accountable.

God called the disciples to follow Him.  Then, some (James and John) wanted more than to just follow the Lord. They sought prominence and not mere service. They wanted position and privilege, not just goodness and purity. (See Matthew 20:20-28).

Adam Clarke says that the highest level of character we can ever attain is to be a slave to the Lord.

In response to the request for prominence, Jesus said this:
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (v. 25-28)

God has called us to serve.
