Your May/Jun 2012 YTE is a Gann special issue, bringing you a double dose of Gann: regular YTE Gann writer David Burton explores Gann trading methodology, analysing Gann's commonly used swing charts; and one of Dawn Bolton-Smith's favourite traders and authors, Michael S Jenkins, examines WD Gann's use of planetary location to predict price in 'Trading with Gann's rearview mirror'. In his article, David points out that the foundation for all trading should be correct capital management and having a set of trading rules in place.
To that end Ben Power spoke with Richard Weissman about what's needed to trade for a living. Their conversation covers Weissman's casino paradigm, a psychologically easy way to ride positions, the importance of keeping a trading journal, and how traders must relentlessly control risk.
Similarly, Kel Butcher spoke with Larry Williams about what it has taken to succeed in the markets over Larry's 50-year career; when Larry will return to Australia; and risk management. Larry states: "A sound money-management strategy is the most important of all the things a trader needs to have and to strictly adhere to."
