Yann Tiersen
The soundtrack to Amélie, the charming, slightly surreal comedic film starring Audrey Tautou, was written by the brilliant French composer Yann Tiersen. Just as the film presents an idyllic, idealized version of Paris, Tiersen's score captures the most romantic aspects of French music, complete with fluttering accordions, delicate harpsichords, mandolins and poignant strings and pianos. But that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Tiersen's music; whether on stage or tucked away in his Paris basement studio, you would be hard-pressed not to find Tiersen behind a wall of vintage synths and electric guitars. His latest album "Skyline" came together at Tiersen's tiny weather beaten island home of Ouessant in the Atlantic off the coast of West Britanny, with further parts recorded in San Francisco and Paris over a year punctuated only by touring.
Listen to a sampling of Yann's gorgeous tracks on our brand-new Spotify music playlist!

Nikka Costa
with Anya Marina
For a lifelong soul music lover like Costa, making her album and now having it affiliated with the legendary Stax Records, whose roster included some of the best in soul music like Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes, is the fulfillment of a dream. Pebble To A Pearl -- the latest radiant gem by the gifted singer-songwriter and performer Nikka Costa -- is far and away her most direct and convincing musical statement yet. If this is Costa's most pleasing album to date -- and it clearly is -- then it's exactly because the woman singing to us so powerfully has finally found the creative freedom to first and foremost please herself.

Meshell Ndegeocello
A bass player above all else, Meshell brings her signature warm, fat, and melodic groove to everything she does. Canonized, marginalized or just scrutinized, she has given up trying to explain herself. After 20+ years in an industry that has called her everything from avant garde to a dying breed, what unquestionably remains is the fearsome bassist, prolific songwriter and the creativity and curiosity of an authentic musical force. With that, she has earned critical acclaim, the unfailing respect of fellow players, songwriters and composers, and the dedication of her diverse, unclassifiable fans.

Silencio
- A Tribute to the Works of David Lynch & Angelo Badalamenti
SILENCIO performs selections from all of David Lynch's films spanning "Eraserhead" to "Inland Empire," with a focus on the works from the "Twin Peaks" series and "Fire Walk With Me". The group's original material seamlessly intersperses throughout the movie material and fits the occasion as if it were written as outtakes from some of Badalamenti's "Lynch-iest" sessions. If there were ever a group to perform for an event and capture the vibe of a "damn fine cup of coffee", cherry pie and wind through the Douglas Firs, then SILENCIO is surely that group.
