A member of the
San Francisco Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Doris Ward was remembered at the Delancey Street Foundation Theater Saturday, May 19, 2018. The
first Black
San Francisco Board of Supervisors President, who passed away in April, was a strong advocate for racial and economic justice. SF National Coalition of 100 Black Women decided to named the chapter's Workforce
Development and
Employment Training Program created by member Jackie Wright in 2011 after Ward. The first project under Ward's name
will be the "Brand Ambassador" project with the San Francisco Black Film Festival, June 14-17.
