To keep you updated on activities and current events, the York County Planning Commission has created E-Alerts.  These E-Alerts are just another way to keep you connected with what is taking place in and around your community.  Please explore the articles below or visit the links to the left for other helpful information.

The York County Planning Commission has updated it Flood map viewer web application.  The new application gives the user access to flood hazard zones, along with LOMA and LOMR data.  The application now pulls data directly from FEMA so the information stays currents as FEMA updates information. York County Home Improvement Program 
Loan and Grant Program
The County's Home Improvement Program (HIP) is looking for qualified applicants to participate. The program is a zero interest, deferred loan program designed to help income eligible resident homeowners in York County by providing financial and technical assistance for home repairs including, but not limited to, roofing, windows, plumbing, heating, electrical, septic and water/sewer hookups.  Grant funds may also be available to eligible homeowners age 55 and older, or handicapped/disabled individuals. Draft County Heritage Preservation Plan
Open for Public Comment
The draft York County 2016 Heritage Preservation Plan is now available for public review. This marks the first time the County Comprehensive Plan will contain a Heritage Preservation element, just in time to mark the County's 275th anniversary. The Plan, as well as a one-page summary sheet, can be accessed on the YCPC website at
The draft Plan was prepared by YCPC staff and a Steering Committee composed of individuals in the fields of history, preservation, tourism, community outreach and education, and more.

The Plan contains a number of components: 
  •    a vision and goals for heritage preservation in York County,  
  •   an analysis of the historical development of the County,
  •    an analysis of existing preservation planning resources,
  •   evaluation criteria to aid in decision-making about heritage resources,
  •   a toolbox of resources for any person or group interested in preservation, and,
  •   an action plan that will implement Plan goals.
Please submit written comments or questions to the attention of Amy Evans, YCPC, 28 East Market Street, York, PA 17401, or via email ( ). Comments may also be submitted through OpenComment, a web-based venue for public review and commentary accessible at .  A printed copy is available for review at the YCPC office (address above) during normal business hours.
A Public Meeting to provide an overview of the Plan and receive comment is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 26th, at the York County Emergency Services Center, 120 Davies Dr., York, PA 17402. All interested parties are welcome and encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
Comments accepted through August 5, 2016.
