High Voltage Transmission Line Project Underway for Southeastern York County

A new electric transmission line project is being developed to increase consumer access to more affordable power.  This project will create a new transmission line spanning from Route 74 in Lower Chanceford Township and running in a southwest direction into Maryland in between Stewartstown and Fawn Grove Boroughs.  The exact path has yet to be determined and is still in the study phase.  A public comment meeting was held on June 8th at the Chanceford Township Community Center.  Feedback from the public will be taken into consideration and will be followed up by a 2nd public meeting that will be scheduled for some time in the late summer/early fall time frame.  For more information on the project you can visit: www.TransourceEnergy.com/Projects/Independence or call 1-800-440-4213.
