Social media is a 24/7 proposition and creativity....isn't.

It's easy to get burned out when you're trying to come up with new content every day-or even more often. There are several things you can do, however, to produce good content even when your social media muse is quiet.

Get our staff involved. When in doubt,  farm it out.  Actually, your staff can be a tremendous source for ideas. They know your business and your customers almost as well as you do, and they have social networks of their own. Get them together for monthly or weekly brainstorming sessions; they'll appreciate the opportunity to get involved and be more engaged in the workplace, too.

Take a routine post from a different angle. If you run an auto repair shop, for example, instead of talking about your monthly specials, take and post a picture of a corroded oil filter or nearly unrecognizable auto part, explain what happened and offer preventive maintenance tips.   Click here for some tips on avoiding social media burnout.

Q&A with Affinity HR's Claudia St. John
Q:  I have heard that the Trump Administration is going to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). If that's true, do we need to continue to offer health insurance? Our renewals are up in March.

A: While the push to repeal Obamacare, or the ACA, is strong, and having a republican-controlled House, Senate and White House will help with that effort, democrats in the Senate can still launch a successful filibuster. There are other ways of repealing it, such as during budget reconciliation and executive order, but none of these approaches are perfect. Most importantly, the ACA is a complex law that has systemic impact on most facets of the delivery of and reimbursement of health care — far beyond the employer mandate. Any repeal and possible replacement of the law will take time. Our best advice is to get with your health insurance broker and follow their recommendation. Chances are, they will recommend you process a renewal as scheduled.

DRIVE S.A.F.E.
Federated Insurance wants to help you prevent your employees and loved ones from being injured or killed in a vehicle crash. Our ongoing, multi-part campaign to reduce vehicle crashes and fatalities now includes the Drive S.A.F.E. program. There are four major contributors to vehicle crashes: Speed, Attention, Fatigue, and Emotion. Drive S.A.F.E. was created to raise awareness of how these factors contribute to crashes.

Do you "Drive S.A.F.E."?
How often do you consider that there are far more serious consequences to unsafe driving than just getting ticketed? In most states, if you killed or injured someone because of distracted driving or playing a role in a road rage incident, you could be criminally charged. If that's not bad enough, these risky driving behaviors also put your loved ones in harm's way, whether or not they are even in the vehicle with you. Think about it: What would your loved ones do if your behind-the-wheel conduct resulted in your being seriously injured or killed in a car crash, or you are sent to prison because your actions contributed to another's injury or death? Bottom line: Poor driving decisions could ruin your freedom and tear your family apart.
