You Can't Achieve What You Don't Believe
If you don't change your beliefs, your life will be like this forever. Is that good news? - W. Somerset Maugham
Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed a common thread in many of my coaching sessions with clients-we all have some level of negative, self-limiting beliefs. Beliefs are incredibly powerful because they drive our outlook and ultimately our actions. Sometimes we're not even aware that our beliefs may be holding us back, because they have been accumulating with every single experience since childhood.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to take a proactive approach to changing some of my own self-limiting beliefs. Not only did it help me get my head in the right place, but it really gave me the opportunity to evaluate where these beliefs came from. I encourage you to do the following exercise, and I guarantee you will be surprised by some of the beliefs you have, many of which you didn't even know existed.
Exercise:
- Write down any negative beliefs you have about yourself, the economy, sales.
- Replace those negative beliefs with positive beliefs.
- Put your new beliefs somewhere visible and remind yourself of them throughout the day.
>> From June 20 - 27 , I will be posting "revamped beliefs" and quotes on our Facebook page. Share yours on our wall and receive a complimentary copy of the Amazon bestseller, Sandler Success Principles!
