Last Chance!
June 30th is the last day of Shell's Matching Grant Program. You have one day to make a gift that will be doubled, that will go twice as far in saving the lives of homeless youth.
Please consider making an extra gift today!
Your doubled investment will allow us to keep our doors open to the incredible amount of youth pouring through them each day.
Alaskan summer nights usually see 15-20 kids staying the night in our shelter. This year that number has rarely dipped below 30. There are far too many young people on our streets, but thanks to friends like you and Shell's match grant, we can make sure they all have a safe place to lay their heads.
We urge you to take action today to ensure this match is met. Our youth need you!

A Teen Mother's Love
When Kay came to Passage House, our Transitional Living Program for teen mothers, she was sixteen, six months pregnant, on probation and facing two years in jail.
At 37 weeks pregnant Kay had an emergency
C-section. That day her beautiful 6 pound 6 ounce baby girl, Katy, was born, but sadly there were complications. During the C-section doctors had discovered that Katy's heart rate dropped because her umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck two times. The prognosis was shocking: Cerebral Palsy.
For Kay, becoming a mother at the age of sixteen was difficult. Becoming a mother of a special needs child was incredibly daunting. Still almost a child herself, Kay had to learn how to cope with the special care and extra time her daughter would need, while also caring for herself. Though it was an immense challenge to educate herself about Cerebral Palsy, learn to navigate the healthcare system, and to find proper services for Katy, Kay persevered. She never gave in to despair about the loss of her dreams for a healthy child. Kay pushed herself even harder to create a better life for her new family and found purpose and direction for her future.
At Passage House Kay found the love and support she needed to get through her struggles, but there are so many more young mothers like her who need our help.
Please donate today through Shell's generous matching grant program before June 30th so we can help more young women like Kay. |
