Our New Through Others' Eyes Group Begins their Home Visits
Our newest group of high school aged Arab and Jewish Israeli youth have begun their series of home visits as part of our beloved program -  Through Others' Eyes . The program is a photography based exploration of identity, historical narratives and cross-cultural exchange, that every year takes a new group of Israel's youth on a life-changing adventure.

This month the group took a field trip to two of the Arab youths' homes in Baka al Garbiyya.  The Jewish youth were especially excited about this visit - for most of them, this was their first time in an Arab home.  Of course the group was especially impressed with the delicious food, and significantly impacted by the hospitality of the families and similarities to their own home life.

Stay tuned for more information about the group's visit to New York this summer where you can see their photography exhibition and hear firsthand about their experience.

Building Shared Society - Step by Step
Last week Givat Haviva launched a Regional Forum of Mayors from fourteen different municipalities in the Wadi Ara region in an effort to expand our impact and community reach through our Shared Communities model. Our goal is to use the strategic framework from our flagship program to create sustainable partnerships for a Shared Region, with our four official regional partnerships serving as role models for the entire regional coalition.

With the support and promise of assistance from the Knesset's recently established Committee for Shared Society, and the leadership of the Mayors in the region - we will prove that building a Shared Society is not only possible, but a living, thriving reality.
