Community Highlight
How did Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co. get its start?  Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co. is a not-for-profit organization started and owned by a college-aged church community at Purdue called Campus House. Since 1966, Campus House has been a part of Greater Lafayette. For years, they dreamed about creating an authentic way to serve West Lafayette beyond their walls and providing a cultural crossroads for those who live, work, and study on campus.

They imagined a place where the community could pause life to enjoy a conversation with an old friend, to make a new one by sharing a table, or to reconnect over a meal.  They wanted to treat people well by serving hand-crafted foods made from local and regional ingredients and high quality, conscientious coffee.

In the summer of 2008, hundreds of Campus House supporters donated the necessary funds to get this started. Over 200 of our friends then volunteered their time to renovate what you see today in just 36 twenty-hour days.  Purdue professors laid tile, local doctors installed trim, students painted walls, and they all wrote their dreams of what they hoped would happen at Greyhouse on the bottom of the floorboards.

An example of how our community comes together to make things happen!

Considering Investing in Real Estate?

West Lafayette, home of Purdue University, set a record for enrollment for the 2016-17 academic year. Over 40,000 students descended on the Purdue University West Lafayette campus last semester, setting the record for the largest enrollment ever.

With that, there is a growing demand for rental properties in our community. The upside of investing in real estate in a college town? A large tenant pool, stable rent and fewer vacancies just to name a few. Not to mention, our community is thriving and sells itself!

Have you, or someone close to you thought about investing in real estate? We can help!

Still a "Seller's Market"?

In some years and some markets, the answer is obvious — in 2016, Denver was a seller’s market, and San Francisco’s been one for quite a stretch.

But sometimes, it’s not so clear, and with mortgage rates on the up-and-up and robust plans for the economy ahead, all the plans for 2017 seem to be out the window.

Here’s what four economists had to say about whether 2017 is leaning toward buyers or sellers.
