´╗┐ There is a chill in the air as rosy cheeked downtowners bustle about their days with shopping, working, dining, and exploring. As the weather turns cooler we are excited at Destination Downtown Lancaster about so many wonderful holiday themed activities that will soon be upon us! Business owners are busy decorating their windows so that they will be fully dressed by the upcoming holiday parade, and restaurants, bakeries, bars, and coffee shops are already dreaming up holiday themed fare that will be sure to delight any palate.

While the leaves are dying and falling from the trees, this is also a season of rebirth and new beginnings for many business and restaurants that are trying to be open in time for the holidays. Keep your eyes peeled and connect with us on Facebook for all the latest news. It is sure to be exciting!

Until then, see you downtown!

Office Ramblings
Hi Friends!

Another busy week in the DDL Offices! Hard to believe that the Downtown winter festivities will start in just 9 days! I hope you will come Downtown for the big parade next Saturday, November 18. Thousands of people line the streets to see the decorative floats, animals, tractors, live music, entertainers, Santa and much more. The Parade route begins at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds heading south on Columbus Street. Route turns east onto Main Street through Downtown. Parade goes north on Broad Street, returning to the Fairgrounds. The parade lasts approximately 2 hours, come and stake your spot on the route!
It will also be the start of the Holiday Window Decorating Contest! This contest will run until November 28. Voting will done online and the link will be available in our newsletter, on our website, from posters and flyers around town, and of course on Facebook! A complete list of participating businesses will also be available too!
A couple "save-the-dates" for you (more details will come);
Saturday, November 25 is Small Business Saturday- lots of participating shops, museums and restaurants that will offer specials available only on that day!
Saturday, December 2 is Winter Fest- Downtown comes alive with the sights and sounds of the holidays! (see info above). And be sure to stay after and hear holiday music and witness the lighting of the Downtown tree! A great holiday tradition to continue, or start, this year!!

Wild Woman Wednesday was short but sweet this week. Busy schedules (work just sometimes gets in the way!) ;) We took a few minutes tho to grab some coffee and morning sweets and gather around the table in our offices. It has become something I look forward to and enjoy. It's nice to work with friends and be able to enjoy the camaraderie! We are lucky wild ones!! I'm sure shenanigans will be in our future, but with the busyness in our work right now, the chill time is appreciated!

Keep our Downtown Ambassador Myles in your thoughts as he spends the weekend recovering from, well, how can I politely say it, having his "little beans" snipped. No babies for Myles.....but I'm sure he will be back to work on Monday, maybe with just a little less spunk,,,,,maybe....

Have a great weekend and hopefully I'll see ya Downtown!
