Meet Brook Howell MA, LPC
Child Therapist
Brook has been practicing with her Masters degree since 2011 and became a provisionally licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri shortly after her graduation.
Mrs. Howell serves as Alternative Behavioral Care's child therapist. Before becoming a therapist Mrs. Howell worked as a teacher for ten years.  She has a Missouri Lifetime Teaching certification in early childhood Education and Elementary Education. Brook is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education, the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling, the Association for Creativity in Counseling, the Association for Specialists in Group Work, and a member of the Association for Play Therapy. Mrs. Howell is continuing her coursework and will soon become a psychological examiner.  You can see why we are so proud to have Brook work with our kids!

Children and Feelings
Often times children, especially young children, have difficulty expressing their feelings. Young children may express anger by hitting or acting out. With play therapy children can learn the proper way to express their feelings. "Feeling" words are an important part of any child's vocabulary, and structured play can be a way to expand this vocabulary.

If you have a client or a child who is having trouble with expressing their feelings, call us and ask about our child program. We treat children as young as age four.
