Sacramento, CA - April 11, 2014 -  Get ready for this year's Young Jumper Suitability Championships, held during World Cup Week at the Sacramento International Horse Show.  There will be three rounds for four separate age groups: four-year-olds, five-year-olds, six-year-olds and seven-year-olds. Judges determine who makes it into the third round based on scoring from the first two rounds. Each age group jumps a different height appropriate to age and training.

Launch Potential Jumper Stars

The purpose of the Jumper Suitability division is to showcase young Grand Prix jumper prospects, and enable owners, breeders and trainers to compete their horses on a level playing field with other horses of the same age and training. This division helps to identify horses who will be successful competing in bigger jumper divisions and then the Grand Prix in the coming years.

Horses will be judged over two rounds by a panel of two judges. Horses will be judged on performance, soundness, rideability, scope and general suitability and likelihood of becoming a Grand Prix prospect. The judges will determine which horses they would like to see in the third round.
