White Mountains

Kinsman Notch ~ North Woodstock NH

Finally! The July 4th holiday weekend is just about here and we hope you will be here, too!

Although summer has been underway for a couple of weeks, the 4th of July here in the White Mountains truly is a celebration of small-town America. No matter where you may be staying this weekend, you can count on a parade and a fair and some fireworks not very far away.

Our events page can help with some planning, it is quite possible to see several parades and several nights of fireworks!

It goes without say that although we're the White Mountains, there is a certain time of the evening when they become purple mountains majesty. Although we may not have fruited plains, it is strawberry season and you don't have to look far for blueberry pancakes!

When you pack up the car and head up for the weekend, be sure to pack a lawn chair and then stake out a patch of sidewalk at a holiday parade. Tap your feet in time to the marching bands, salute the veterans who will proudly march, watch the kids scoop up penny candy tossed from the floats, shake a politician's hand and be caught up in the feeling that you're just glad to be here.

If you need some help planning your visit, swing by our visitors' center, off exit 32 of I-93 in North Woodstock, or you can call us at at 800-346-3687. Our website -- www.VisitWhiteMountains.com -- is also full of information.
