on an Arts Midwest Program called Creating Connection. It is a national social change movement focused on advancing the position of arts, culture, and creative expression in our nation.

It builds on previous efforts to promote arts and culture, but is grounded in new research and a unique approach to building public will that creates change that stands the test of time.

"A national movement to change social norms so creative expression, arts, and culture are embraced as a recognized, valued, and expected part of everyday life."

     Florida's 2018 Legislative Session starts its third week on January 22 and legislators are meeting and discussing bills, budget issues, and what they want Florida's priorities to be for
FY 2018-2019.

What is our main goal for the 2018
Florida Legislative Session?  

RESTORE  state-appropriation investments needed to fully fund the 658 vetted and recommended 2018-2019 Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs (DCA) matching grants.

Review, use, and share 2018 Florida Legislative Platform  for Arts & Culture with legislators & staff.

Follow through NOW on your specific  county action alert  that was emailed to you.

Participate in Arts & Culture Day on January 24 --
see details under #3 below.

Please pay attention to our Action Alerts when they arrive in your email box and follow through in a timely manner.  It
        matters to legislators and their staff when they hear from a
        number of people on specific issues.  Let them hear from you.

from Throughout Florida on Tuesday, January 23,
from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.:  

     The Florida Cultural Alliance is re-establishing its annual night-before Arts & Culture Day networking dinner for representatives from local arts agencies and any other arts and culture advocates from a Florida arts, arts education, or cultural organization or community  for networking, cocktails, dinner, and sharing from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on January 23 at Wahoo Seafood Grill, a restaurant right behind the Quality Inn where we have a group rate.
