Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) Released Its Draft of Its ESSA State Plan for Public Input During July 2017 -- your specific action is requested before July 31.  See below before you take action.

Time to pay attention

What do we recommend for arts education in Florida's ESSA Plan?

A task force in Florida is reviewing now
Florida's Draft ESSA Plan
and its waiver to the U.S. Department of Education, along with what other states included for arts education in their ESSA plans submitted this past spring.

This task force will finalize our next steps and asks regarding Florida's ESSA Plan this week. Please pay attention this week and next for Action Alerts that will outline the specific easy steps we'll ask you to take to help secure stronger arts education references in Florida's ESSA Plan.

If you remember, we encouraged you   last summer to take action
when the FLDOE first requested public input.  None of the arts education policies we advocated for last summer are included in Florida's DRAFT ESSA Plan.
