The use of the Advent wreath is a traditional practice which has found its place in the Church as well as in the home. The number of candles represent the four weeks of Advent and the number of candles lighted each week corresponds to the number of the current week of Advent.
When the blessing of an Advent Wreath is celebrated in the home, it is appropriate that it be blessed by a parent or another member of the family.

YEAR-END GIVING 2015
SUPPORT OUR DIOCESE AND THE CATHOLIC CAUSES
YOU CARE ABOUT MOST
Living in the Diocese of Orange, we have much to be thankful for.
The Orange Catholic Foundation is especially thankful for the prayers and generosity of our many donors. We thank God and pray for all those who help us make a positive difference in the lives of many by supporting our Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA), our For Christ Forever Capital Campaign, our Endowments and Funds, and those who remember us in their estate plans.
As we approach the end of the 2015 calendar year, we ask that you remember the Orange Catholic Foundation in your prayers and consider a year-end gift.

Please Note: The IRA Charitable Rollover is part of the tax extenders legislation that must be passed by the House and Senate. The tax extenders have not yet become law for 2015. Please feel free to check back on our website for updates.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of the Orange Catholic Foundation, know that it is our privilege to serve you. We also wish you a blessed Advent Season, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
You may be hearing about "
#GivingTuesday" in the media over the next day. #GivingTuesday is a dedicated day, fueled by social media, to giving back.
