It's been a busy start to the 2nd quarter for SDAHU. We had a great turnout at our tax focused March event and we had well over 100 people attend our Single Payer CE on April 19th. If you have any specific topics you would like to see us cover please reach out and let us know. This coming May a large group of us will be headed to Sacramento to meet with our Legislators.
Hello SDAHU readers and members. Since out last visit together, I have been in a pretty good mood. The distractions of enrollment angst are receding, and I have some time to plan the future of my business. This does not mean I can't find some passion for a rant. There have been several things happening recently in the political world that can be viewed as hopeful, or disturbing, depending on your perspective.
Membership numbers continue to be steady in San Diego and across all CAHU chapters. The last event SDAHU hosted to encourage new member registration was the "Taco Tuesday" tequila tasting in Old Town and was quite a hit. With that said, we are considering a "Whiskey & Scotch" tasting event to promote new members as our next follow up event. However, if you have a good idea for a new member promotional event, feel free to email me at email@example.com. We are always looking for new ideas.
Lastly, if you know any agents who are considering joining SDAHU, here is a nice Membership Flyer which details the real dollar value of a NAHU membership.

In late February a handful of SDAHU board members went to Washington DC for the annual NAHU Capitol Conference. While there we met with our five San Diego congressional offices to communicate the NAHU agenda including individual market stabilization, removing commissions from MLR, Medicare improvements, and the role of the agent. In addition, we attended breakout sessions, training workshops and listened to several excellent speakers.
