Your Chance to Own an Original Piece of Art By Local Artists and Support Youth Education
Wolfgang Ritschel Painting on the Block
at the  fresh Art Auction
The painting "Peaceful Valley" depicts a scene in the remote village of Pueblo Viejo in the oasis of the Valley of Caspana in Chile, where Wolfgang Ritschel served as a senior Fulton scholar in the 1990s. Ritschel had just completed the first part of his high-altitude medical research and paused for a two-week vacation in the spectacular lower regions of the Atacama Desert before going on to his remaining lecture and teaching assignments. With a present-day population of 400 people, the tiny village is now largely the guardian of its spiritual heritage, staging various religious festivals with a large influx of the wider population of the region at certain times of the year.
