State Of The City Of Kenmore Luncheon Was A Huge Success!

Thank you to the 160+ business owners, professionals, civic leaders, and residents who joined us last week to hear Kenmore City Manager Rob Karlinsey give his State Of The City address for 2017!


Guests enjoyed a great presentation, met the Chamber Student Of The Month from Inglemoor High, heard updates on the new Kenmore apartment buildings Spencer 68 Apartments + Lofts and The LINQ, and networked and mingled, all while enjoying a delicious lunch from the Inglewood Golf Club.

Main Street Enhancement Project
 
The City of Bothell's "Main Street Enhancement Project" is well under way with exciting improvements coming to downtown Bothell!
 
In case you missed the Business & Property Owners Meeting on Jan. 11 you can view the presentation here which includes details about road construction and closures.

The project is in its bid advertisement phase from Jan. 20 to Feb. 7. The city will publicly open all sealed bids at City Hall on Feb. 7 at 2:30 p.m.

The City of Kenmore is hosting an Open House for the West Sammamish River Bridge replacement project. The project will replace the existing west bridge with a new structure and the approaches to the bridge between NE 170th St. and NE 175th St. Come see what the City is planning and share your input.

Northshore School District Hosts Strategic Planning Community Forums

Wed., Feb. 1: Inglemoor High School, 15500 Simonds Rd. NE, Kenmore
All forums will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM
  
The Northshore community is invited to participate in forums that will help direct the Northshore School District's Strategic Plan.
 
"This is an exciting opportunity for everybody in Northshore to have a voice in the focus set for our schools over the next few years," said Dr. Michelle Reid, Superintendent.
 
Participants will learn about the Strategic Planning process, and then will be engaged in small groups to define district priorities.

Board Members Sought For "Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims" Program

Looking for a great way to support the community?  Consider joining the Board of Victim Support Services. Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims is expanding their Board of Directors. Families and Friends is a statewide 501© [3] community based program providing direct services to victims of violent crime and their loved ones, advocating for public policy that strengthens victims' rights and access to services, and educates the public on the impact of violent crime on victims and the greater communities in Washington State. Offices are located in Everett and Seattle.

Relay For Life Northshore Hosted By American Cancer Society Seeks Volunteers 

American Cancer Society Relay for Life The American Cancer Society is the leading non-governmental funding for cancer research and patient services. They are looking for Teams to join them in their fundraising event, Relay For Life of Northshore, that benefits the American Cancer Society.
 
Teams sign-up online here and create individual or team fundraisers to raise funds for their mission. Then on June 3-4, 2017, they come out to the community event and participate in the walkathon from 10am-6am the following day. "Please join us as leaders in the fight against cancer! The Family Jewels 5K Is Almost Here!

The Jaimeson Jones Memorial Scholarship is presenting its seventh annual Family Jewels 5K on March 11, 2017, and they need you to make it a success!

They have launched a new campaign this year, partnering with the nonprofit registration and fundraising platform Classy.org, and they need your help to make it a success! Every registration and donation helps fund their mission: Providing scholarships to students whose sibling had cancer.

Kenmore Resident Wins Kenmore Heritage Society Award For Volunteerism

Congratulations to Sara Solum Hayashi, a long-time volunteer and advocate of a wide range of arts programs, who has been named winner of the Kenmore Heritage Society's annual McMaster Heritage Award, which honors an individual who has made outstanding volunteer contributions to the Kenmore community.

Hayashi has volunteered several thousand hours on behalf of organizations including the Northshore Schools Foundation and the Arts of Kenmore and is active in the Kenmore Business Alliance.

Heroes For Health 5K Fun Run Seeks Volunteers
Saturday, June 3

Heroes for Health 5K Fun Run is set for Saturday, June 3. The Planning Committee is forming now for the 6th annual event and they are looking for enthusiastic, community-minded neighbors and businesses to help!  This fun family event encourages families to get out and get active! 
 
Specific tasks include determining run course, registering volunteers, spreading the word, soliciting local sponsors and/or vendors and more!
