This year, on Tuesday, November 28, 2107, Operation Care and many other Amador County nonprofit organizations are participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in our own community.
Amador Community Foundation gives this nationally recognized annual giving campaign a special local twist. By making ONLINE donations at
giveamador.org on Tuesday, November 28th between 6am and 8pm Pacific Time, or by check at the
Charity Meet & Greet, your dollars go further, thanks to incentives of more than $10,000 from the Helen Fallis Fund and other local donors.
Last year, Amador's #GivingTuesday raised $95,822 for local charities! Amador Community Foundation matched $13,500 for a total day of giving of $109,322. Operation Care proudly received $1979.58
(see complete list here).
