Dear AFP of Eastern Oklahoma Chapter Professionals and Friends:

Since the beginning of the year, I have found myself, on numerous occasions, reflecting on my career as a fundraising professional and also as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).  I joined AFP in 1997, formally called National Society of Fundraising Executives (NSFRE).  Yes, I'm truly dating myself now!

Over the past 20 years, I have served the chapter on numerous committees, chaired National Philanthropy Day, and served as both the chapter Treasurer and VP of Education.  I truly can't believe how time has flown by.

I am positive that without my involvement with AFP, seeking the advice of my mentors and developing numerous friendships, my experience in the nonprofit sector would not have been nearly as enriching to me and my career.  I know I can contact any one of my mentors/friends and they would be there for me - to just listen or offer their experienced advice.  AFP has allowed me to develop relationships that are invaluable.
