Your Freedoms as an Energy Practitioner are being Taken Away!

Today is the day that we get to stand up for our rights as Energy Healers in the United States!

I will get straight to the point - Maryland has a new bill that is going to hearing on February 20, 2014 that will make it illegal to practice energy medicine.

FIRST OFFENSE - a fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both!

Here is the specific language about the energy work from the bill: (page 3)

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, AN INDIVIDUAL MAY NOT PRACTICE, ATTEMPT TO PRACTICE, OR OFFER TO PERFORM THE LAYING ON OF HANDS, CONSISTING OF PRESSURE OR MOVEMENT ON A FULLY CLOTHED INDIVIDUAL, TO SPECIFICALLY AFFECT THE ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY, ENERGETIC FIELD, OR ENERGY MERIDIANS OF THE HUMAN BODY, UNLESS THE INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVES, MAINTAINS, AND POSTS AN

UNEXPIRED CERTIFICATE FROM:

(1) THE AMERICAN REFLEXOLOGY CERTIFICATION BOARD;

(2) THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STRUCTURAL INTEGRATORS;

(3) THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATION COMMISSION FOR ACUPUNCTURE AND ORIENTAL MEDICINE;

(4) THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATION BOARD FOR THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE AND BODYWORK; OR

(5) A NATIONAL ACCREDITATION ORGANIZATION APPROVED BY THE BOARD FOR THIS PURPOSE.

This denies our rights as consumers to have access to Energy Healing Therapy and is denies our rights as trained Professional Practitioners to have a legal practice.

We are asking for your help on behalf of all Maryland Energy Workers and all energy workers in the world! Help protect the right to practice and receive Natural Healing Therapies in Maryland. Senate Bill 817 and (House Bill) HB 1156 aims to punish those practicing alternative and complementary healing in Maryland.

Time is critical. SB 817 goes to hearing on February 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM EST.

HB 1156 goes to hearing on March 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM EST.

Your immediate action is the only thing that will stop this bill! SB 817 and HB 1156 is apparently designed to revise the penalty structure for Chiropractors and Massage Therapists practicing without a license, with the intent to strengthen the ability to penalize prostitution using reflexology and massage as a front. The intended use is prostitution, but it is being done at the expense of denying the right to practice and receive energy medicine without the approval of the government.

It includes a provision which requires Board exception to lawfully practice alternative and complementary medicine in Maryland. It also creates a monopoly by only allowing five specific Natural Healing Modalities named to practice. According to SB 817 HB 1156, those in violation may receive up to a $5000 FINE or ONE YEAR IN JAIL OR BOTH, just for practicing a form of healing for which they have received training and certification.

One of the proposed amendments (3-501 (C)) specifically classifies any form of Energy Healing in the same category as Chiropractic or Massage Therapy, unless provided a specific exemption.

This directly infringes on the rights of citizens to choose the form of healing that they see fit, as well as removes sources of income for those who practice a form of healing not protected in this Bill. We seek to have SB 817 and HB 1156 removed completely and replaced with a Bill that will offer protection to ALL forms of healing, not just the five named modalities that are receiving special treatment.

To Whom It May Concern,

I do not agree with SB 817 and HB 1156 and ask for it to be stopped. Specifically 3-501C incorrectly categorizes one occupation under another.
