Littérature et philosophie en Martinique

Par Mickaella L. Perina, Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts

Cette conférence présente les travaux de 4 auteurs Martiniquais (Fanon, Césaire, Ménil et Glissant) qui ont considérablement contribué à une meilleure compréhension de l'expérience caribéenne. En tant que poètes, dramaturges, essayistes et philosophes, ils ont analysé comment les Martiniquais et les caribéens conçoivent leur réalité et ont démontré que des catégories, comme l'identité, l'être, le territoire, le particulier et l'universel, acquièrent un sens nouveau lorsqu'elles sont analysées à la lumière de cette expérience. Cette conférence examine les outils conceptuels développés par ces auteurs et montre que, par-delà l'expérience caribéenne, leurs contributions permettent aussi de mieux comprendre les expériences migratoires et les contacts entre individus et groupes dans le monde contemporain.
