Get the Facts About Issue 29
On November 6 , Gahanna voters will be asked to consider changing the City's earned income tax rate from 1.5% to 2.5%. The proposed ballot issue is critical to fix Gahanna's crumbling streets and curbs and in maintaining a safe community for people to live, work and visit.

To help voters make an informed decision this November 6, the City of Gahanna has launched a new resource page on its website that provides the facts about Issue 29.

Chat with the Mayor on Issue 29
Over the next several weeks, Mayor Kneeland will be partnering with Gahanna area businesses and organizations to host community conversations on Issue 29. During this time, the mayor will answer resident questions concerning the November 6 ballot initiative. The first 'Chat with the Mayor' will be held on Sunday, September 23 at 1:30 pm at the Lily Stone Bed & Breakfast, 106 S. High St. For a list of other upcoming events click here.

Cleaner Greener Gahanna
Join Make Gahanna Yours for its second annual citywide litter cleanup event on Saturday, September 15 . The event will take place from 10 am - noon starting at Friendship Park, 150 Oklahoma Ave.

Volunteers will need to arrive at Friendship Park by 9:30 am to get instructions and necessary material for the cleanup.

September is National Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness Month. The City of Gahanna and Franklin County Emergency Management & Homeland Security (FCEM&HS) encourages residents to plan and prepare for all hazards before they happen. The month serves as a timely reminder that emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere without notice. The time to prepare is now and throughout the year.

Help Light the Gahanna Sanctuary Bell Tower
The Gahanna Foundation is working to light The Gahanna Sanctuary Bell Tower. Their goal is to raise $7,700. Although they are making progress on their goal, they still could use help from the community.

On Wednesday, September 19, the community is invited to dine at the Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern in Gahanna, 73 N. Hamilton Rd. for lunch, dinner, or snack. On this day, 15 % of your bill accompanied with a certificate, will be donated to The Gahanna Foundation, Inc. Click here to download or print a copy of the document.

Creekside Hops & Vines Festival
Enjoy Creekside Park, local craft beers, great wine, live music and gourmet tacos from Local Cantina—all while supporting the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation on Saturday, September 22 from 6-11 pm at Creekside Park, 117 Mill St.

The Foundation supports youth camp scholarships, public art, park improvements and more. Purchase your tickets today! 

The Gahanna Historical Society Flea Market
Connect with old friends while doing some treasure hunting at The Gahanna Historical Society's 52nd Annual Flea Market. This community event will take place on Sunday, September 30 from 9 am - 4 pm at its new location in downtown Gahanna at Creekside.

Some of the vendors include Tastefully Simple, Origami Owl, Roger's Honey and more. All proceeds from the market's vendor fees will help support the historical society's three properties including the log house built in 1840, the John Clark House, home of the founding father of Gahanna, and the Lily Stone Bed & Breakfast.

Coffee with a Cop
Join the Gahanna Division of Police for conversation and coffee on Wednesday, October 3. Coffee with a Cop is a national event that brings police officers and the community members they serve together-over-coffee-to discuss issues and learn more about each other. This year, the community will have two options to attend Coffee with a Cop:

  • 9 - 10 am: Starbucks - 1370 N. Hamilton Rd.

  • 6 - 7 pm: Upper Cup Coffee - 121 Mill Street at Creekside

No agenda or speeches, just a chance to answer questions, voice concerns and get to know your Gahanna police offices.

Pies in the Park - A Celebration of All Things Pizza
Mark your calendars now for Visit Gahanna's brand new event - Pies in the Park! This community event will take place Sunday, October 7 from 1-5 pm at Friendship Park, 150 Oklahoma Ave.

Pies in the Park, a celebration of all things pizza will feature the area's BEST pizza vendors selling samples of their signature pies. Bring the family and sample your way through a variety of creative pizzas, then vote for your favorites. Attendees will enjoy great pies, beverages, a cornhole tournament, outdoor activities for all ages, inflatables, live music and more!
