Industrial Training Services Partners with Kentucky Schools to Pioneer Natural Gas Recruiting Programs

Today's Natural Gas Industry is facing a challenging problem. As the pipeline industry continues to grow and create more jobs in the U.S., it also creates a unique side effect - worker shortage.

In addition to new jobs being created, there are also vacancies created by a large number of retiring baby boomers. Many of these job openings require a diverse skill set and demanding work ethic. However, solutions are being put into place by industry associations, local community leaders, natural gas companies, educators, and Industrial Training Services to recruit and retain the next generation of pipeline workers.

PHMSA Application Deadline for Nonprofit CST Grant Proposals is September 4, 2017

The CST program provides up to $1 million to nonprofit organizations to conduct outreach and training that prepares communities to deal with rail incidents involving Class 3 flammable liquids. The CST also funds training for state and local officials responsible for enforcing safety regulations for the transport of such materials. The deadline to apply for a CST is September 4, 2017

American Gas Association Launches "Your Energy" Campaign

In June, the American Gas Association (AGA) announced the launch of "Your Energy," a national consumer education campaign aimed at raising awareness about the critical role that natural gas plays in the lives of Americans.

"Natural gas makes America stronger," said Pierce H. Norton II, president and CEO of ONE Gas Inc., and chair of the board of AGA. "AGA's 'Your Energy' campaign will shine a light on the tremendous benefits of natural gas for American households and businesses. American-made natural gas supports environmental progress, national security and a healthy economy."

The "Your Energy" campaign will include community outreach, social media engagement, advertising, and other promotions.  Resources for policy makers, elected officials, the media, and consumers will also be made available via specific state-based programming that will highlight the positive impact natural gas can have for families, communities and state economies throughout the country, beginning in Connecticut and Virginia.  "Your Energy" can be found online at
